This annotated lecture introduces my approach to problem solving.

It, first, motivates the need to take some control over the fact that  we will be living in a strongly warming climate for upcoming decades.  However, we have experience in dealing with weather and climate, and we need to realize our ability to adapt to a changing climate and to limit the amount of warming that we will realize.

Then, it introduces the foundational elements of problem solving, and focuses on the technique of scenario planning to manage uncertainty. It uses water levels in the Great Lakes as an example.

The lecture was given on September 26, 2019 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
